Our Squadron is for all Marines who are or were part of Marine Air Command and Control. The name honors a small team of Marines who created an all weather bombing system in 1949 at Point Magu, California that evolved to become the Air Support Radar Team (ASRT). The equipment was sent to the Korean War as part of the 1st MAW, 1st MTACS. The radio call sign was Devastate Charlie. We are part of the Marine Corps Aviation Association. Lt. Col. Robert E. Kiah, Jr. (Bob) passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 26, 2018, surrounded by family at his home in Northern Virginia after a 3-year battle with glioblastoma brain cancer.  Bob graduated from the University of Maine in 1964 then enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He received his Master’s Degree from the University of Michigan and retired from the US Marine Corps in 1988 after 24 years of dedicated service.  

Bob retired as Senior VP and a member of the Board of Directors for Computing Technologies, Inc., and is survived by his beloved wife, Kuniko Kinjo Kiah, his 3 children, 6 grandchildren and many close relatives and friends.

 A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 from 10:00-12:00 with a funeral service to follow at Mountcastle Turch Funeral Home 4143 Dale Boulevard Dale City, Virginia 22193. The committal service with military honors will take place on Friday, October 5, 2018 at 12:00 at Quantico National Cemetery 18424 Joplin Rd, Triangle, Virginia 22172
