            I received this email message from the “Together We Served” website.   It seems that there is going to be an ALL MACS Reunion in San Diego next June. I received this email THREE times from TWS… because I was in 3 different MACS units. MACS-3, MACS-4, and MACS-8. This reunion is for ALL personnel who served in ANY MACS unit.   Sounds like a great opportunity to see many old friends.

            I’m going to forward this to all the Marines that I served with… if you would please forward it to those in the MACS community that I may be missing.

They offered us a much reduced room rate of $195 per night. Free shuttle service from the airport, free shuttle service to many of the sites in San Diego. Plus the hotel is large enough to accommodate all of us. That puts us all at the same location, no need to split hotels. Plus they have offered a ten day period, 3 days previous too and after the reunion dates at the same reduced rates.

I'm hoping that all will consider this a vacation, and attend all four days plus more days if you wish. We are planning a MCTSSA trip for Thursday and a MCRD trip for Friday. At this point the banquet will be held in one of the host hotel’s ballrooms. The midway banquet has been canceled due to costs. Please don’t let us down. Consider the work involved, and register early. We need the funds to pull this off and keep the non profit healthy and active.

YES… this is NOT the MACCS reunion. Too many similar units. However, almost all of the personnel who are members of a MACS unit are also members of a MACCS unit and vise versa. Edda, I would like to clarify a bit on John's note below and you can forward to the community at your convenience.

The reunion in San Diego next June is open to all that served in the units of the Marine Air Command and Control System (MACCS), not just the Marine Air Control Squadrons (MACS).

When we last met in 2016 at a MACCS reunion in Stafford, VA., Frank Walter had organized a reunion for the MACS in Dumfries. We got together for an excellent dinner for all at the Marine Corps Heritage Museum.

Frank volunteered to set up another reunion for all and he has done a great job of doing it. It would be great if we could reach out to those that have attended or thought about attending MACCS and MACS reunions in the past to come to what is shaping up to be a great series of events in the San Diego area to include a MCTSSA visit. What an opportunity to see the equipment the MACCS Marines are using to keep our country safe these days!
